ExchangeOnlineManagement Update to Version 3.10.1 or later

Microsoft has requested that users of the Microsoft 365 ExchangeOnlineManagement PowerShell module need to update to version 3.10.1 or later by late April 2027.  This is to providier for enforcement of strict logon requirements.  After Microsoft implements the change at the end of Aprill 2027 it will have trouble authenticating and connecting to your environment when you have a version older than 3.10.1.

How can I check what version I have now?
In a elevated PowerShell console issue this command
Get-Module ExchangeOnlineManagement -ListAvailable
The second column will show the version if this module is installed on your computer

How can I update if I have a older version?
In a elevated PowerShell console issue this command
Update-Module -name ExchangeOnlineManagement
Agree to installing the module and when it is finished it should be installed

Check your installation after updating
In a elevated PowerShell console issue this command

Get-Module ExchangeOnlineManagement -ListAvailable
The second column will show the version if this module is installed on your computer, this will likely list the old and new version

How can I clean up old versions of ExchangeOnlineManagement?
In a elevated PowerShell console issue this command

Uninstall-Module ExchangeOnlineManagement -requiredversion 3.9.0
This will uninstall the version you want, you would need to update the number “3.9.0” to the version that you need to uninstall from your computer, you can do that for each of the old versions on your system.
